Description
On Oct. 16, 1970, Alan Schwartz and his father Kevie Schwartz, avid tennis players, opened Midtown Tennis Club®, the first Midtown Athletic Club, at 2020 W. Fullerton in Chicago. Recognizing the lack of suitable indoor tennis facilities, they built the first and largest indoor tennis facility in the US, from the ground up. Forty years later, Midtown Athletic Club has expanded to nine locations within the United States and Canada. When we started, we knew that we could not simply sell memberships and provide court signup sheets. Our passion for the game led us to invest in and nurture tennis players. Over the years, we have continued to create premium amenities by perfecting the lighting, spacing of the courts, and the court surface. Our innovative tennis programming such as Tennis in No Time® and TenniSchoolsSM, tiered according to our N.T.R.P system, have been adopted as industry norms. And as membership numbers have grown, we have expanded our leagues so that members could find the perfect balance between leisure and competition. It is that vision that has brought some of the best tennis players in the world to our clubs, and led us to over 40 years of growth and success.
